It is BLOG ACTION DAY everybody!

Rejoice!

Today, we are going to talk about the environment, as it is the peak of Blog Action Day and it is ALL about... what? The environment, of course, what else? I got kind of inspired about the organizations and the things people commit to do about taking care of the environment. I think that every single one of them deserves out gratitude and not only that, they deserve our help.

So, lets get real. We are web developers and we stare in front of the PC, Mac, PDA and whatever - every day of our lives doing what we do best. Thinking about our projects, duties and such in a way that we exclude almost everything else in our mind. Concentration and mind agility is what we use in constant turmoil to overcome the next "obstacle". The project, the deadline, the self respect we are going to gain, the pleasure of doing it - these are some of all the reasons we are what we are and why we are doing it so passionately or so disgusted of it - depends on the task at hand, actually.

I remember one day i was in the office and Wanagi came by me and told me something like : "You can switch off the a/c when its not THAT damn hot you know!?" and I was like staring at him, my mind twisting and turning in order to comprehend what in the world he was talking about. "Are you alright, boss?" was the only thing that could leave my lips at that very second. It just turned out that some minor things in my everyday life are constantly , not only hurting, but seriously damaging the environment around us. Like the way I dry out the soda, coke, beer can and just throw it everywhere I can see something that represents a trash can. So, sue me I am just a bit more free going than most people - well, actually you should sue me. As I said, minor things that just pile up over and over and at the end are not that small as I thought.

So what can web developers do to take care of "nature" at least a bit more. Well, a lot actually, it is just that I am new to this myself and Wanagi said to me that I can be something less of a "pig" and be something more of a "human", but that is just me I guess.

I rest my case. I just need a bit of help and I am sure that if you have the time you could throw some ideas and suggestions up here so that I can "educate" myself a bit more.

How are you feeling today? Good? Bad? So, so? Is it a good day for you now, right now? Well, no matter your answer, just know one thing - On October 15th the Blog Action day goes WILD!

It will be a day of hot hot dangerously hot discussions and debates about one single subject all over the world. As the title on the website says, "One issue. One day. Thousands of voices.". Beautiful isn't it? It sure is. Ok, enough with the chit-chat let's get to the point.

Blog Action Day will be, as I already mentioned, on October 15th and will be all about one thing - the Environment around us. The main object of this thing is to get everybody ( or as much people as they can actually ) to talk about the environment and to aim for a better, safer future. I say "Sign me IN!" as I love the environment and I like blogging, too. Also, the website features over 8000 registered blogs and websites, reaching an audience of nearly six million people. Thinking about it six million people is probably a lot less than some cities' population, but it is still a good number and it is growing especially if me and you can help it with whatever we can.

I mean come on its all about the environment - something we can not live whit out, you know. We here at SourceBench already burn with anticipation of the coming in just a few days event! Go, and place Get Involved!
